Birmingham Boys’ and Girls’ Union - Woodlands Camp

We are providing a Yurt (a heated Mongolian style tented structure) at Woodlands camp, Aldridge, which is run by The Birmingham Boys’ and Girls’ Union, a registered charity providing outdoor activities for young people of all ages and backgrounds from the West Midlands. This will provide shelter from sun and rain and be used for activity briefings and classroom sessions.

Orchestra of the Swan in conjunction with Welcombe Hills School

We are funding the purchase of musical instruments to enable the Orchestra of the Swan to undertake an innovative project with the Welcombe Hills special school in Stratford upon Avon. Professional musicians from the Orchestra of the Swan will work with students and staff at the school in a series of creative workshops and performances for children of all ages with learning difficulties enabling them to gain nationally recognised qualifications.

The Brendas made a staggering £15,000 which went to the Maryvale Youth Trust at Kingstanding.

Maryvale Youth Group was formed in early 2006 and is run entirely by volunteers to give local children a safe environment to play and socialise.

The Brendas through PFK has helped Maryvale Youth Group to purchase indoor and outdoor games
equipment for local children to use, helping them to socialise and break down barriers to create new friends.

In addition an outdoor area has been transformed from a derelict and dangerous area to a hard surfaced play area that can be used by children playing five a side football, netball and basketball.

All this has been done with the help of and funding from PFK.’ A photoshoot is imminent so watch this space.
